I tried for a month to jump start my “diet” on my own after growing a food baby (borrowed that term from another blogger-perfect description, don’t you think?) during the month from Thanksgiving and Christmas.
(I blame this , or it could have been these.)
It just wasn’t happening, so I bit the bullet, drug out my credit card, revved up the old computer and joined Weight Watchers online…..AGAIN.
This is the third or fourth or fifth or maybe sixth time for me, and I know from experience that WW works.
The first time, about 6 years ago, I got rid of about 12 extra pounds and from then on, I have tried not to let my weight go up more than 5 pounds without doing something about it.
Some people think that is just dumb, but it has worked for me, so who cares what “they” think?
I did learn early on not to admit on the WW message boards that I only have a few pounds to lose. No sympathy there!
I get it though.
Anyway, this time I am trying to end my love affair with sugar and sweets so maybe I will develop the will power to just say no to the foods that trigger my overeating episodes.
No one needs a dozen cookies at one sitting, do they?
I found this recipe for muffins in one of the little flyers in our local paper, and they are GOOD, checking in at 6 WW points plus. Sometimes I need a breakfast I can take out the door with me, and these muffins do the trick.

WW has worked for me too. Like you, I get antsy with an extra five pounds. I feel sluggish and frustrated. Why on earth do I have to shove dinner in my mouth as I'm cooking it and then eat it again with my family!? Yep, I'm dealing with an extra 3 pounds right now and started following my WW knowledge….again for the upteenth time….
Happy WWing. You can do it. 🙂
Thanks for the delicious looking muffin recipe. My family would really enjoy these. The trick is not to eat the batter while I am making them!!

My girlfriend swears by WW! I am trying to lose those last 10 pounds. And doing it in the winter, ugh! All I crave is comfort food. The muffins sound yummy!

I'm trying to get rid of the food baby, too! Good luck!

Good luck w/WW. I lost 35 lbs. 10+ years ago, and like you, I get serious again when I've put on 5 lbs. – and that time is now.
I really, really like WW Chicken Marsala. I double up the amount of mushrooms (there's not enough calories or points in mushrooms to fret about IMHO) and can get plenty to fill me up. Yummy!

The cranberry muffins sound delicious.

I will have to try that recipe! I did weight watchers after my son and it totally works…now I'm thinking I have to do it again after bean 3…the darn scale is stuck again! Good luck!!!

Haha! Food baby!!
I too need to lose some pounds. I even know how to do it. Lose the sugar, bread, and pasta…eat eggs and even some potatoes, lots of good protein and tons of veggies and some fruit. It's not hard. It's just that I love chocolate. And cookies. And once in a while I like to visit the bakery down the road…for a yummy cinnamon twist…two or three times a week. Phooey…it's hard to give up the sweets. But…when I do…my clothes get big. Love that feeling of loose jeans. 😀 Good luck with WW.

I think you are so thin!
Don't look at me.
I like the sound of that recipe…wondering if I have those things here…must go look, you've made me hungry, ha!
I was about to use my old bananas for you-know-what…but if I do, I'll eat them! Family doesn't ever eat BB when I make it, darn them.

I, too, have several pounds to lose..the one that works for us, IF WE STICK WITH IT, is the South Beach Diet. We go on it, lose the weight we want to lose and then…just start eating all those breads, sweets, candies…it's just pitiful. I am such a weak goofus when it comes to SUGAR….I cave every single time. Oh, well….

Good for you for taking charge of your weight loss. I was considering WW, before the Lord closed the door. I hope He will open it soon!

This recipe looks wonderful; unfortunately, in my area the stores ran out of cranberries early on and didn't restock.
