Like many of you, I spend a lot of time every week driving my car up and down the road rushing from this appointment to that. Much of the time, I don’t look to the right or the left. I am “in my head” and not paying much attention to my surroundings.
This summer has been a little different for me. This year, my eyes have been drawn to the field ditches on both sides of my regular roadways.
And guess what I have been seeing?
The beauty that God places even there.
All of this has me thinking about the times I have felt rather “weed-like”.
When I have felt like I wasn’t pretty enough, or good enough, or valuable enough to be a part of the “real” display.
You’ve kept track of my every toss and turn
through the sleepless nights,
Each tear entered in your ledger,
each ache written in your book.
Isn’t that comforting? Sounds like someone cares VERY MUCH.

There is so much truth in this post, Susan. I think many of us struggle with those issues day-to-day. You are right- there is beauty even in the most plain if we are willing to see it- xo Diana

I think for many of us, negative thoughts and doubts about who we are, what we have done, or what we haven’t done, can cloud the image we have of ourselves and hold us back from recognizing our distinctive personalities. The beauty of being able to celebrate and love ourselves is that it enables us to do what we can, with what we have, where we are, and just be enough! 🙂
Lovely, encouraging post Susan!
Blessings and love.

What a greatly encouraging post! Beauty is everywhere and a blessing from God. This post makes me wonder how many beautiful blessings from God I have missed by being self-absorbed. It also makes me want to pray for eyes that see that beauty in everything and everyone that He put there. Thank you for this post Susan! Glad I found your blog! ~Erika from MishMashedMe : )
