Morning Exhale and Being Real

December 12, 2018 | 4 Comments

Hello, Friends!

This tree belonged to Brad’s grandparents! It has been sparkling for a very long time.

Have I told you lately how much I love you, dear reader? With the myriad of choices you have available today….blogs, podcasts, Instagram posts, Facebook lives, Marco Polo…..someone is always whispering or squawking in your ear.  How in the name of time can a person keep up with it?

So, maybe you have totally checked out.

Sidebar: Where are the emojis in wordpress? I need them!

Happy Daisy missed us while we were traveling.

Interestingly, our granddaughter told us the other day that only old people actually talk on the phone, and does anyone watch regular TV?

It seems that everyone has something to say and lots of ways to say it. So, I am honored that you take time to read my simple thoughts!

A beautiful mission church near Tucson.

I’m doing some end of the year reflecting and feel the urge to get some musings on paper, so here I go…….

Dream

My word this year is DREAM. As normally happens, once I picked the word or the word picked me, I started seeing it EVERYWHERE. I dreamed some big dreams this year and even though part of the year was anything but dreamy, this was a year of big personal growth for me.

And growth comes with pain.  Growing Pains.

The desert may be mainly brown but it is easy to find color!

Because of this, I learned to lean on my sweet, sweet Heavenly Father more and began to know my friend, Jesus, in deeper ways. And leaned into the power of the one word prayer.

I said, “Help” a lot this year. And He did.

Look at all this abundance!
Can you believe this sky? It was like medicine to me!

The Enneagram

The Enneagram popped into my radar and I fell in love with it. God made us each uniquely, but we have so MANY things in common and the characteristics of The Helper, or Twos on the enneagram, blew my socks off.  Those words described me- from the strengths and weaknesses to the childhood wound and besetting sin.

Let me tell you, when you learn your big fault is PRIDE, your instinct, after shedding some tears, might be to go hide in the corner! (Before you judge me, go take the test and discover your own big issue. It probably isn’t pretty either. ) Yeeks!

I’m learning to check my motives, quit trying to subtly control others through kindness, and be open to Holy Spirit transformation. Worrying too much about what other people think has always been an issue for me. And that is also prideful because…..why would people be thinking about me anyway? YUCK.

When we were in Arizona, we attended a fiesta and had so much fun! As I watched these beautiful children break the pinata while having so much fun together, I couldn’t help but wonder when we start learning to distrust one another. We are ALL THE SAME!

Morning Exhale

After leading our Young Living oil group, the Blessing Droppers, in weekly morning meditations, I was nudged to make it available to a wider audience.  So, I started Morning Exhale. It is a private FB group where I lead us in some breathing exercises and help us set an intention for the day every Wednesday morning.

A sunset reflecting on the mountains….breathtaking!

I have enjoyed it so much and connecting with people from many different states. So far, I’ve only convinced a couple of people to share their God story with us through FB live, but I am hopeful this year that more will be willing.

Hearing how God is moving in your life, what he is teaching you……I WANT TO KNOW!

The Midwest reminded us upon returning home that she is beautiful, too! And she is.

That will do it for this December day, friends! What have you learned this year? Tell us in the comments!

(If you would like to be added to Morning Exhale, tell me in the comments and I will make it happen. )

well, He is teaching me patience through the surgery on my thumb. I have a cast on my right hand, and I am right handed, for three weeks. Surgery was on Nov. 26th and I return to the doctor on the 18th of Dec. hoping to be released to drive. I am so thankful for my family next door that have helped and driven me places. Living left-handed in my right-handed world is very challenging. I still have about 3 more months of recovery. This has also given me time to pause and reflect on many things. Thank you, for sharing your time with us. Gail
