I Need a Text Message from the Lord

Hello, Friends!

I’ve missed you! How have you been? I hope your spring mornings have been filled with singing birds, gentle breezes and eyes to enjoy the beauty all around you. God is sooo good to us, isn’t he?

I woke up earlier than normal this morning worrying about what I was going to say during Morning Exhale, second guessing myself and beating myself up with doubts and negative self talk. I wondered if I’m really doing God’s will for my life or my own will.

I know my JOY and PURPOSE is not going to come from my way but HIS.

Nobody needs more me.

But they do need more JESUS!

I wished for an early morning text message from my Heavenly Father, with my instructions for the day. Wouldn’t that be handy?

When I get into this kind of slump, I have a couple of places I go to find encouragement and they didn’t fail me. I love Alissa Keeton and Revelation Wellness (would someone local please go get certified?) and when I opened my email, I had a message from this ministry. Contained in that message were these verses, reminding me of who GOD IS…..

Who God Is…….

God is faithful.

“But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.” 2 Thes. 3:3

God leads you. 

“The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him.” Psalm 37:23

God delights in you.

“The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.” Zeph. 3:17

God protects you. 

“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” Psalm 46:1

God has a plan for you.

“being confident in this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philipians 1:6

God is not a God of confusion.

“For God is not a God of disorder but of peace….” I Corinthians 14:33

God is for you.

“What then shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? Romans 8:31

Whew. That is encouraging, isn’t it?

I’ve told you before, I think, that my One Little Word for 2018 is DREAM.

So yesterday morning, as I was driving to Holy Yoga, my ears perked right up when a new song just “happened” to come on the radio. It was Dream Small by Josh Wilson. The words of this song blessed me soooo much. Check it out on Youtube.

 

The song reminded me that my job description today and every day is to Love God, Love Others and 

Do stuff. God gives us ALL the FREEDOM in how to do that, so I pray today that my eyes and 

your eyes are wide open to time alone with the one who LOVES us, to the family before us, and 

to each person HE puts in our path.  

 

May we learn the lessons from each person we meet. 

Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength and love your neighbor as 

yourself.  That is our PURPOSE! 

 

So, I guess I don’t need a daily text message from my Father, after all. He has already told me what I need to do!
