One Little Word That Will Teach Me…..Gather

January 6, 2017 | 20 Comments

One Little Word, Gather

One Little Word That Will Teach...Gather Are you a goal-setter? A List Maker? A reflect-back-over-the-year person? None of that comes naturally to me. Well, except for the reflecting part. I do like to try to learn from my experiences and the only way to do that is to take the time to evaluate what worked and what didn't. In general, I’m a BLUE personality type who is more prone to flying by the seat of my pants. I’m drawn to the “shiny thing over there” and o … [Read more...]

Top Five Role Models-Living a Life of Love and Inspiration

December 30, 2016 | 4 Comments

Hello, Friends! The ball has dropped on 2016, can you believe it? To me, Y2K seems like it just happened , but I guess it has been 17 years. Who knew that I would now be able to ask my new friend, Alexa, all manner of things and she would answer me? Or that Amazon Prime and Zappos would take away my need to go to Terre Haute or Champaign to shop? Those years have been so good in many ways and we are thankful for our bountiful blessings, but I have to admit that I have been a little … [Read more...]

Hello, Friends! Ok. I have to admit that I giggled as I wrote the title of this post. I DO NOT KNOW how to live a HOLY LIFE, but I'm trying to figure it out and I desire to live a life that is honoring to Jesus. I bet you do, too. I wish we could sit down with a cup of coffee, heavy on the flavored creamer, and share what God is teaching us. Living a HOLY LIFE isn't something just for those in vocational ministry and a pipe-dream for the rest of us. In the second letter Paul wrote to his … [Read more...]

Holy Yoga 101-When Two Worlds Collide

December 1, 2016 | 2 Comments

Hello, Friends! Can anyone relate? Technology and I have a love/hate relationship. On the one hand, I enjoy writing my blog, posting on Instagram, and looking at everyone's beautiful family pictures on Facebook. And don't even get me started on watching Kiley Phillips and her alter ego, Bernadine, on Snap chat. That girl is so dang funny! Of course, I am just now figuring out how to even watch a video on Snapchat, after being shown several times by our granddaughters, Faith, Liv and … [Read more...]

How to Be Married Part 3

September 19, 2016 | Leave a Comment

Welcome to Part 3 of our series "How to Be Married". Having a good marriage takes hard work and I know 40 years ago, Brad and I had no idea what was involved.  Perhaps if we parents and grandparents encouraged young people to spend as much time planning their life together as they spend planning the wedding, divorce rates would decrease. I love the wonderful advice that our friends have shared-advice that came straight from the heart and years of experience learning the give and take of … [Read more...]
