Where I am From….and a Winner!

March 2, 2018 | 12 Comments

Where I am From, And a Winner! Hello, Friends! Happy March!!!! Spring is coming. Our daffodils and other flowers are peeking through the ground, there are red buds on the maple tree and I've seen my first robin. Even better, the days are getting longer! That will make a girl happy. Hopefully, you are seeing signs of spring where you live, too. Some of you know that I taught 8th graders Language Arts for many years, and I really miss reading the occasional piece of writing that would … [Read more...]

Top Five Role Models-Living a Life of Love and Inspiration

December 30, 2016 | 4 Comments

Hello, Friends! The ball has dropped on 2016, can you believe it? To me, Y2K seems like it just happened , but I guess it has been 17 years. Who knew that I would now be able to ask my new friend, Alexa, all manner of things and she would answer me? Or that Amazon Prime and Zappos would take away my need to go to Terre Haute or Champaign to shop? The stress and upset was NOT WORTH IT, and things have continued to go CRAY CRAY with me being mainly happily unaware. However, I do want to be an informed voter, so I have lifted my news ban just … [Read more...]

Baby Talk

June 6, 2015 | 6 Comments

This is Prince George, not a member of our family.......google images! One of the best parts of being a grandparent is having conversations with our granddaughters. Those talks can be hilarious or innocent or disturbingly honest. Or embarrassing when family secrets are spilled. I'm sure we have all been there! Two of ours are learning to sew this summer and I am helping them with their 4-H projects. We went to buy their fabric at Joann's the other day and after much searching and persuading … [Read more...]

How to Live with Cystic Fibrosis

Living with cystic fibrosis

Our sister, Amy’s obituary gives the nuts and bolts of her life, but it doesn't begin to describe the real Amy- the daughter, sister, wife, aunt, or friend that she was to us. Amy’s life started in a special way with her birth on Christmas Day, 1964. She was a beautiful healthy baby with parents and 2 sisters who were totally delighted with her. Unfortunately, early on it was evident that she was not the healthy child we all assumed her to be. After being ill many times, Amy was … [Read more...]
