Five Minute Friday: View

May 25, 2013 | 10 Comments

(Five Minute Friday-Set your timer. Write for 5 minutes. Boom.)One of the things I have learned as I age is: not much is as it appears. The beautiful, thin girl in the great outfit who makes you feel like a tub of lard? She probably has an eating disorder. The girl down the street with the house that is always spotless and  a to-do list with every item marked off at the end of the day?She is in bondage to her own perfectionism and need to control. The girl who makes everyone laugh and seems to … [Read more...]

She is Better than Me, Dealing with Comparison

She is Better than Me, Dealing with Comparison Hello, Friends! You might not like me very much after this post. I'm going to confess something today and it isn't pretty. It is a character trait that I wish wasn't connected with me. This nastiness is comparison. For most of my life, I have felt like I didn't measure up. I wasn't smart enough, funny enough, serious enough, clever enough, responsible enough, pretty enough, skinny enough, dressed cute enough, productive … [Read more...]

A few weeks ago, I went to Yoga Camp in Arizona.. While there, I was refreshed with living water and time to reflect and focus on my BFF-Jesus Christ. As part of this ceremony, our small group leader spoke encouraging words to … [Read more...]

But it may not feel like it at times. It seems like everyone I know is going through tough times. I don't need to list all the troubles; we all know what they are.My question is: How do people get through the struggles of this life without acknowledging God's love for them, without his spirit dwelling in them? That would make the hard times, impossible. But like the old hymn says, "This world is not my home. I'm just a passing through."I want to share with you a resource that I found in No Other … [Read more...]

Making Room

March 29, 2013 | 13 Comments

Holy week.I don't know about you, but it seems like it has been really hard to focus on the important things during this Easter season.Maybe it's because we are celebrating so early this year.Maybe it is the way Christianity has been so marginalized in our society.Easiest wreath ever...scraps, foam wreath form, glue gun...done.Maybe it is the snow we had last week after the calendar said it was spring.Maybe it is the unseasonably cold temps.Maybe it is my cold heart.Last weekend we were blessed … [Read more...]

Welcome!

I am so glad you are here today. I come from a long legacy of farmers and am married to a handsome farmer now. Some of my favorite things are cooking, yoga, essential oils, and most importantly, Jesus!

I live a different yet fulfilling life here on the farm. I hope you will find encouragement within these pages and know that you are loved dearly by the King!
