Brain Spillage

Today, I am thinking about……..

1. Paint brushes like this one:

We have been painting and painting and painting in our basement, trying to get everything ready for the carpet layers next week. Everything is requiring multiple coats and this paint brush has become my new best friend. If you don’t have a “stubby” paint brush, you need to get one before your next paint project.

Yes, you do!

2. The truth of this quote:

Simply Sunday-The Bible
source

No other words needed.

3. Using this stencil on an accent wall :

Damask stencil, reusable wall stencil, Acanthus Damask Size S/A4 7.5 x 9 inches
source
I participated in the last stenciling phase, right after the wallpapering phase, which followed closely the decoupage phase.
Love the way it is being re-interpreted!
4. Crochet Hooks
I have been trying to improve my crochet skills, so I wanted to make a cute little headband -scarfy-type thing that had a sweet little flower on top. I didn’t pay any attention to the hook size the pattern suggested and I ended up with a hat that would fit an ogre or a giant or at least an NFL player.
And a flower that looked like a crown.
To salvage the project, I turned the headband part into a wreath scarf (your wreaths wear scarves, right?), which doesn’t really show up in this pic. Then I crocheted two more flowers, added some burlap and hung it on my front door.
And I like it!
I’d love to know what is on your mind today, so share away!

Hey Susan! I am really digging that stencil! I will have to check out your source! One of these days I will be working on our work room and something like that would add such a kick to the space! The quote is perfect and the wreath is beautiful! All the best in the new week ahead!

Hi Susan, I think I need that paint brush! It looks comfortable to use! The stencil is great and the quote is perfect. I had to laugh at your crocheting adventure! Good way to rescue the project and it looks very sweet. Hope you have a lovely week. xoxo

Ok, you're the second person who's recommended those stubby brushes to me. So what makes them so much better than the standard brush?

    I love that quote!

I love that stencil … I hope you'll share a picture of your finished project. My sister used a similar stencil to stencil an accent wall in their dining area … she used a slightly darker color so the stenciling is more subtle … it really looks nice.

Sounds like you're painted out with so much work – time for a break! Know it's a good feeling though now completed, and a nice start to Spring – new walls and floors!

Love the wreath Susan – my crochet skills are minimal, knitting is better, but I will use my 'unfit to wear in public' crocheted offerings in this same way – if you don't mind me being a copycat!!!

Happy Spring – hope things are blooming your way.

    Hugs – Mary

How creative!! I love it and it is one of a kind. Well, until the neighbors all ask you to make them one.

I have a drive-in movie theater in my rural neighborhood too! Love it…it's usually a double feature & it IS difficult to stay awake 🙂
