Childhood Should be Reserved for Children

January 28, 2014 | 13 Comments

This is part of an old railroad mile marker. Notice all the potshots someone has taken at it. So symbolic, don't you think?Have you ever experienced a scenario like this? Before starting your quiet time, you pray that God will show you what you need to know, that He will convict you where conviction is needed. Then you begin reading along in the Bible, minding your own business, maybe reading verses you have read many times before, maybe busily applying those verses to other people because … [Read more...]

Beach Love

January 21, 2014 | 11 Comments

After our wrestling match with the Blizzard of 2014, our hearts were aching for some sunshine and warmer temperatures, so we hooked our vintage airstream, Pearl, to the back of the truck and headed south. We purchased Pearl in July and had only camped for a couple of days at a time, in campgrounds relatively close to home, so we were excited to venture further from home to see if glamping was really for us.We headed to our favorite area in the Florida Panhandle, 30A, the road that travels … [Read more...]

Fresh Starts

Are you a Bible study girl? Me, too.I've participated in many group studies that required homework and time in the word, but lately I found I craved more. One for the Record Books

I took this pic out our back door as the snow was really picking up. No filters.Girls, what an exciting and scary few days we have just experienced. It is hard to tell now because the horrible wind blew the snow all over the place, but we had in excess of 12 inches of snow. Believe me, the next time the weatherman predicts a blizzard, I will pay more attention.Predictions for record snows began early in the week after enough ice and snow fell on Wednesday night, closing schools on Thursday and … [Read more...]

Blessings in the Mess

2014 has been a such a good year in so many ways. But, in other ways, this has been a hard year. We have been challenged in ways we never expected, but with those challenges has come blessings in abundance. We have GROWN, and that often comes with some pain, doesn't it?Often, we have to look through the tangled mess of our lives to see the blessings that are there in abundance. A Vintage Farmwife is one way I keep my eyes open for those good things.So......Before, I say "Thanks for the memories" … [Read more...]

Welcome!

I am so glad you are here today. I come from a long legacy of farmers and am married to a handsome farmer now. Some of my favorite things are cooking, yoga, essential oils, and most importantly, Jesus!

I live a different yet fulfilling life here on the farm. I hope you will find encouragement within these pages and know that you are loved dearly by the King!
