Once in awhile you see something that makes your heart go BOOM! There is an instant connection and smiles break out in abandon.
That is how I feel about these little darlings!
I have never been a girl who likes to rough it, but there is just somethin’, somethin’ about an adorable old camper that screams my name.
I dream of having one parked beside our own little pond and spending fun times there with our family and friends.

We ventured across the state line on Saturday to a vintage camper rally in Indiana. I was smiling the whole time we walked around, dreaming and learning what we like and don’t like in these sweet little trailers.
Aren’t these little cuties? There were 50+ campers at this rally! |
I just know this one would have been adorable on the inside, too, but the owner was no where to be found, and I couldn’t see anything when I peeked in the windows. Shoot.
Our search for our very own Argosy has begun.
And since one thing leads to another, we will also need to find one of these……
Do any of you have a vintage camper? Does anybody else want one?

I'm currently reading a book called "A Girl Named Zippy" by Haven Kimmel that a blogger recommended (and I'm pretty sure it wasn't you) but the story revolves around her growing up in Mooreland, IN in the 60's and 70's (and she has quite the humor)and she speaks fondly of her family's camper. And the campers you featured today (and the station wagon too) are exactly what I pictured in my head as I read about those campers …

These are so cool! I'd love to have one and travel everywhere. The first one looks like Cath Kidston decorated it!

Well, I love those old travel trailers, too, even though my idea of roughing it is pulling a Winnebago into a Holiday Inn. MyHero searched for several years and finally found a 1976 GMC motorhome- (they look like eggs)..he is working on it so we can use it.
I love the ones you posted here- xo Diana

OMG, I would do anything (read: ANYTHING) to own one of those. There is a place in Arizona that is a resort made up entirely of vintage campers. I am dying to go there and spend a weekend. I looked at your pics and just thought . . . someday . . . someday! I'm your newest follower and a fellow newbie. Found you through Debbiedoo's. I hope you'll stop by and check me out sometime.

ooo those are so cute I want one! They remind me of our family trip driving from Texas to Alaska when my
Dad got stationed there (Air Force) in 1967. Ours looked like the turquoise and white one. I loved that trip.

i want one desperately! But of course, I'd want to drive it up to a hotel with running water and electricity! That's as far as my roughing it goes!

Those are sooo precious! But I don't think that will happen here. My husband and boys have spent as much on tents, sleeping bags, and all the other sorted stuff for real roughing it that we could have bought one of those cute babies by now. But I guess I can always dream…..

OMG yes, Airstream, Airstream, Airstream!
My husband and I drove past one not too long ago and there it sat, all shiny and perfect and we both at the same time looked at each other and said "That would be so cool to have!"
I love the look of those Argosy's, but I want an old Airstream!
