Things are hopping around the old farmstead this week. I told you months ago that we were planning to remodel our upstairs bathrooms. Well, both of those rooms have now been gutted, and if I ever want them to be finished, I have to make some decisions.
Today, I am focusing on the guest bath, which I want to have a vibe sort of like this…
or this.
I am planning on floor to ceiling bead-board (didn’t they used to call that paneling?) painted in a soft blue. My vanity will be antique white and I am looking for just the right antique piece to include as well.
Next up on my to-do list is lighting. I am going to take a little chandy from our living room, which always looked just so-so, and move it upstairs.
Yeeks! What should I choose for above the sinks?
Something like these from Restoration Hardware?
Or these from Pottery Barn?
Anybody out there have some great lighting suggestions you want to share? I would sure appreciate them!
Hugs,

wish I could be some help. I'm actually on a light fixture hunt of my own both interior and exterior. I'll be watching this post to see if anyone comes up with a great suggestion or 3 🙂
love the samples you posted.

Oh Susan, I LOVE the first photo. There's something relaxing and elegant about a warm soft blue with white trim.
A chandy will be gorgeous. But, when it comes to lighting over the sink…I'd lean towards lights that make it easier to put on my makeup and don't make me run screaming when I look in the mirror! Haha! These exposed old timey bulbs are cool…but I wouldn't want them over my sink – teehee!
Do you have a Lowe's etc. near you? I've been smitten with some outdoor lighting…great for a bath…and the price points are terrific…and they give you that little twist from the usual.
Have fun!!!!

I looked for over a year to find THE perfect light for our dining room…had to be brass to go with kitchen hardware so that made it hard to find. Then I searched high and low for sconces for my kids' bath. I prefer single sconces to the sides of mirrors (and would love one matching hanging pendant in the room.) I ended up ordering from visual lighting for the dining room and new york lighting for the bathroom (I think.) But today, I would go with Lowes. Their selection is good, and their prices are great.
