Have you heard of The Story?
It is 31 stories from the Bible, written in novel format. The selected stories make it so easy to see the big picture of God’s love for us from creation to Jesus. If you have attempted to read the Bible before but got bogged down when you hit Leviticus, The Story could be just the way for you to begin to fall in love with the Holy Scriptures and the God to whom they point.
We are knee deep in the study at our church right now, and it is a total immersion. Here is how it is working for us……
- read the week’s chapter
- hear a sermon about it on Sunday morning.
- study it during the week
- discuss it in small groups on Wednesday night
All age levels are doing the same study at the same time, which makes it so easy for parents and children to discuss what they are learning.
Great idea!
I loved this week’s study about building the tabernacle after God gave Moses the Ten Commandments.
The Israelites were given very specific instructions for how God wanted His dwelling place built and how it should look when it was finished.
Then he equipped them to do it.
These verses just make me smile……
Exodus 35:34
“And he has given both him and Oholiab son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, the ability to teach others.”
Exodus 36:1
“So Bezalel, Oholiab and every skilled person to whom the Lord has given skill and ability to know how to carry out all the work of constructing the sanctuary…..” (emphasis mine)
Maybe you are like me and sometimes (or many times) feel totally inadequate for the task you feel God is calling you to complete.
Maybe you give up before you even start, thinking you just can’t do it.
Maybe you listen to the voices in your head that say you are not good enough.
Stop it.
Let’s allow these verses to TRANSFORM our thinking. Let’s rely on this fact….
“God doesn’t call the equipped; He equips the called.”
I’m curious. What do you feel you are supposed to be doing that you can’t do without God’s help?
I bet there is something.
Please share. It will encourage me and others!

Found you on instagram and just today started following you! Our local bookstore sent out a flyer highlighting this book and I have not read the Bible in this format. . . chronological. Are you enjoying it? Was thinking about buying it. Only $5 bucks!
I need to trust God more in my small photography business. Thank you for sharing. Love.
